Hurruudah is similar to drinking games like Fingers. The goal of the game is to guess how many fingers will be showing total between you and the opponent. This drinking game is a two player game.
Since all you really need to play this game is some drinks, it’s easy to play in any social setting.
What You’ll Need
Typically this game is played with an alcohol called Airag. (Which is basically fermented mare’s milk). But since most people won’t have that nearby then whatever happens to be in your cup should do just fine. This game works best with 2 players, although others are encouraged to watch and sing along.
How To Play Hurruudah
The goal of the game is to guess the total number of fingers better than your opponent.
Each round consists of both players counting down from 3, then simultaneously yelling out a number and revealing how many fingers they are holding up with one hand. Each of the two players can guess any number from 0 to 10, and show anywhere from 0 to 5 fingers on one hand.
If either (or both) players correctly guess the number of fingers that are showing (between both players) then they earn a point. Points are kept track of on the hand you aren’t using for the game.
First player to score 5 points wins the game and the other player must drink a shot.
Other Rules
The Mongolian drinking game of Hurruudah is typically played with all players and onlookers singing the “Dembee song” and plays are made to the tempo of the song. There’s also an additional rule where if you throw out any number besides 0 then you must include your thumb or you lose the game immediately.
However you choose to play please always make sure to drink responsibly.
