Two Truths and a Lie Rules

These Two Truths and a Lie Rules have players coming up with believable lies and unbelievable truths. The general object of the game is to fool other players. One player comes up with two true stories and one fake one, and then the other players must decide which one is the fake story. This game is best suited to smaller groups, around four to six players, since having too many players might get boring between turns.

What You’ll Need

All you need for this game is a few friends, a few drinks, and a pretty good imagination. Also helps to have a good poker face so other players can’t immediately tell when you’re lying.

Two Truths and a Lie Rules

First players decide who is going first. That player decides on which stories he wants to tell. Then in an order of his choosing, he recites two true stories and one false one.

After he is done every other player now gets to talk among themselves to decide which story they think is fake.

Once decided they ask him if that was the fake story.

If they were correct, the story teller drinks. If they were incorrect every other player drinks.

Afterwards a new storyteller is chosen and the game repeats. There’s no real ending point so just play until every one has gotten their fill and is ready for a different game.

The Two Truths and a Lie rules won’t be a heck of a lot of drinking, it’s more of a social game to get to know those around you. But regardless of that please make sure to drink responsibly and take a break if you need one.
