As the name implies the Bar Dice drinking game is one that’s meant to be played in a bar or pub. This is because typically the loser is the one who has to buy the round of shots for the group. Although it would be easy enough to just play it at home or at a party as long as there’s bottles nearby for shots.
What You’ll Need
For this game you’ll need 5 dice and five shot glasses.
How to Play Bar Dice
The object of this game is simple. Try to achieve the highest roll possible with the five dice. The highest possible roll is 6-6-6-6-6, and the lowest is 1-1-1-1-1. Dice are arranged from highest to lowest to make one long number. For example 62211 is higher than 55544.
On a players turn they roll all five dice. Then they can choose to reroll as many of the dice as they want once and keep the rest. With one exception, any “1” rolled must be kept. This makes re-rolling a bit hazardous because it increases the chances of rolling more ones. On a players turn they get 2 re-rolls, so that would be 3 rolls total with the initial roll.
After each player has locked in their rolls the player with the overall lowest total must buy a round of shots for everyone playing.
The Bar Dice drinking game, unlike most drinking games, doesn’t punish the loser by making them drink more. In the end everyone ends up drinking the same amount. The loser of each round must just spend a few extra dollars to pay for every one else’s shots. They are however free to choose whichever type of shot they want.
