The key to the slow boat to china drinking game is not having too many players understand how exactly to play. Since players have to try and figure out the rules on their own and have to drink every time they are mistaken.
Slow Boat to China Rules
*Disclaimer, Only 1 player should read these rules. If everyone reads them the game won’t work!*
Someone starts the game by saying this phrase.
“If I were to take a slow boat to China, I’d take a *noun* with me.” Replace the word *noun* with any noun you could think of.
After that the next player clockwise says the same phrase except they must start their noun with the last letter of the previous noun used. If they don’t they drink and pass their turn.
Everyone must be careful to not explain to the others how the rules of the game work. Once everyone figures it out the game is finished so just keep playing until everyone gets it.
Steve ” If I were to take a slow boat to China, I’d take a PaddlE with me.”
Mark “If I were to take a slow boat to China, I’d take a EraseR with me.” (this works because the last letter of Paddle and the first letter of Eraser are the same”
Joe Biden “If I were to take a slow boat to China, I’d take a RacecaR with me.”
Jimmy Johns “If I were to take a slow boat to China, I’d take a Boat with me.” *BZZT!* wrong answer. This player must take a drink.
The slow boat to china drinking game is great if it’s everyone’s first time playing the game. If more than 2 or so people know the rules before the game even starts it might be kind of pointless so try to use this game with new groups of unsuspecting people.
