Betrayal is an interesting twist on a dungeon crawler style board game. Players take turns as they explore a mysterious mansion and find omens, mysterious objects or events that tell the story of the houses true nature. After enough omens are discovered the haunt will begin. Based on what omen was found and it which room the haunt will change, with 50 haunts in the original and 50 more in the expansion Widows Walk. Players will drink as they explore the house and find items and omens. Whoever becomes the traitor will finish their drink. Players will also finish their drinks whenever they are killed.
Betrayal at House on the Hill Drinking rules
Drink one whenever:
- Any event is failed.
- You discover a new room.
- You pick up an omen card.
- Your character gains or looses a stat point.
- Another character passes through a room with your character in it.
Drink three whenever:
- Your character loses a fight.
- An item is stolen from you.
- Your team accomplishes an objective for the haunt.
Finish your drink whenever:
- You become the traitor.
- Your character is killed.
Players will steadily drink throughout the game as their character grows weaker or stronger and explores the haunted mansion. Once the haunt commences the player turned traitor will finish their drink and attempt to make the other players do the same by killing them in whichever way the haunt dictates. Betrayal is always around the corner and being evil and drunk has never seemed like such a great idea in the Betrayal at House on the Hill Drinking Game.
