As far as vocal drinking games goes this is one of the easiest ones out there. Players just go around the table saying a word that either rhymes or refers to the word before them, if they mess up they drink. This game works with any number of players.
What You’ll Need
Nothing at all really. Just some drinks and hopefully your wits.
Rhyme or Reason Rules
Players should be sitting around a table or on the ground for this game. A player is chosen to start the game. They pick any word they want, the next player clockwise has to come up with a word that rhymes with it (such as cat and hat) or a word that has to do with it (such as cat and meow).
This keeps going in a clockwise fashion until someone either messes up, takes too long, or repeats a word that has already been said. That person loses the game and takes a drink. They must also think of the word to start the next round.
Making It More Difficult
If this vocal game is getting a little too easy then we suggest you adding in some of these rules to make it more tough.
First try making it rapid fire by only giving players a second or two to answer.
Secondly carry over words between rounds. This means if someone says a word that anyone else said in any previous round they lose. This will make sure it gets harder as the night goes on.
The Rhyme or Reason drinking game is a great and simple game that only requires a few people and some drinks. If you’re looking for some vocal drinking games with a bit more complexity check out our section of great vocal drinking games. Cheers!
